Black and White Photography :
An introductory level art course covering light, exposure, camera operation, film processing, printing, basic and experimental darkroom techniques. Students are introduced to the history of photography, trends and the pluralistic roles of photography, contemporary image makers, and professional practice.

Color Photography :
An introductory level hybrid art course (film and digital) covering technical and conceptual color considerations, darkroom and digital processes, professional studio lighting, photography in the context of contemporary art and design, advanced creative problem solving, and professional practice.

Processes and Materials for Graphic Design :
An intermediate level graphic design course covering the processes and materials involved in taking a design project from start to finish. Concepts include: color, prepress, ink and paper, conventional and digital printing/output, package design, imposition, preparing files for print, folding and finishing, an introduction to basic web design, professional practice, as well as expanded conceptual directions involving message, translation, interface, and research topics.

Web Media :
An intermediate level graphic design course focused on developing interactive media for web delivery. In addition to usability, information architecture and graphic design themes, this course covers: how the web functions as a content delivery medium, writing markup language/tag structures (XHTML), writing styling tag structures using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), using basic scripting (javascript/php/MySql) for dynamic content, creating motion graphics and basic behaviors with Macromedia Flash, the tools/applications involved with web media production, and professional practice.

Digital Video:
An interdisciplinary art course introducing visual, sound, and animation production techniques specifically relevant to video art while providing a broad introduction to critically engaging video (and film), critical theory, and contemporary practice.
